Medical Implants of WWI
WWI was a time where many men received plastic surgery because of their wounds.
There were a few types of implants in WWI, such as Facial Reconstruction, Prosthetic Limbs and Skin Grafts.

First is Facial Reconstruction: it is the process of recreating the face of an individual (whose identity is often not known) from their skeleton.

Second is Prosthetic Limbs: it is an artificial device that replaces a missing body part, which may be lost through trauma or disease.

The third is Skin Grafts: Skin used to cover an area where the patient's skin has been lost due to a burn, an injury, or surgery.
After World War I, H. Léger-Dorez created a “tubular extension” implant that was comparable to a pedicle screw. Using this as inspiration, he designed a technique for implants.
